The office of Planning and Development provides planning and policy development assistance to developers, citizens, Planning and Design Review Commissioners and the Mayor and Board of Aldermen. Our office develops programs in response to emerging issues and manages the revision and implementation of the City of Horn Lake’s Comprehensive Plan. The office also coordinates the city’s strategic planning efforts and oversees planning and zoning for the growth, development, improvement, restoration and beautification of the community. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for all our residents, business and visitors to our community.

Planning Commission is formed by various citizens who are appointed to this position for a 4 year term. The next term will be in 2013. The commissions’ duty is to serve as an advisory board to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen.
