Mayor Nat Baker

Greetings Residents, Newcomers, Prospective Residents and Visitors!Mayor Nat Baker

On behalf of the citizens of Horn Lake, welcome to our community. I am confident that you will find that we enjoy a way of life offering many of the finer characteristics of small-town South with touches of an urbane, sophisticated community at the same time.

While here, please take the opportunity to visit our wonderful 120-acre Latimer Lakes Park Complex which offers tennis, baseball and football fields, three beautiful lakes for fishing, playground and outdoor skating, as well as picnic areas and a beautiful pavilion that has hosted many weddings and birthday celebrations.

Our efforts to provide an alternate mode of transportation via a greenway have begun with the first 2.2 miles linking Scott Farms Subdivision with Latimer Lakes Park. We encourage you to walk, bike or skate along this route. It is also handicapped accessible. We are proud of this accomplishment and will continue our stride in finding additional ways to link residential and commercial establishments; to enhance the “quality of life” for the public; to provide economic opportunity; and to promote safety.

From 1990 to the present, our city has grown from a little over 9,000 to a population of 25,000 today. We can attribute this success to our excellent schools and the proximity to our neighboring city, Memphis, TN.

I sincerely hope that you find our community warm and inviting. It’s a place I have called home all my life. My commitment to each of you will always be: promoting a hometown atmosphere and enhancing the quality of life for generations to come.

As we move into the next decade, I challenge the citizens of our community to brainstorm and envision projects that will take our city to the year 2020.Let us remember, we must never lose sight of the vision that makes our community special.
