The Public Works Department consists of 3 departments:

• Street Maintenance

• Sanitation Department

• Building Maintenance

The Sanitation Department provides pick-up of all household garbage, debris and appliances.

Animal Control 

Animal Control is under the Public Works Director and is located off Center Street at the Public Works Department.   It is manned by Ann McLain who enters into the computer all the animals brought into the shelter and on the animals not claimed by owners, lists them on the web for adoptions and notifies various Rescue Societies who in turn may come pick up these animals for further adoption.  She also organizes and supervises “Adoption Days” that the Shelter will hold.  She cleans, feeds and maintains the welfare of these animals.  There are two Animal Control Officers who are responsible for making calls about injured, or animals running loose around the City.
