Animal Shelter/Services
The Horn Lake Animal Shelter is under the direction of Public Works Director, Spencer “Penny” Shields. The
Shelter is located at the Public Works Department off Center Street.
Ann McLain is the Animal Control Assistant who is responsible for entering each dog/cat’s information on the website. She is a compassionate and caring person who gives her all for the betterment of her animals. Ann is also responsible and supervises numerous “Adoption Days”.
At present we have two Animal Control Officers who are responsible for answering calls for dogs/cats “running at large” or injured animals or humans that may have been bitten.
The Shelter graciously accepts donations for the shelter whether in the form of food, and materials for the animals or a monetary donation. Checks can be made out to “The Friends of Horn Lake” and designated for the Animal Shelter.
Shelter hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 7 a.m.-6 p.m. and Wednesday and Friday 7 a.m. -3:30 p.m.
