Pickup Guidelines

Personal Waste Containers

Waste Connections “DOES NOT” have authorization to dump residence personal cans.
When personal cans are placed out by the street along with company can, the personal can will be considered as trash/rubbish and will be taken away as such.
Neither the City nor Waste Connections will be liable for any damaged or lost personal can that is placed out by the curb for trash service.

RESIDENTIAL / SMALL COMMERCIAL CART PLACEMENT AND PICKUP GUIDELINES

City trash service begins at 6am Monday through Friday and occasional Saturdays due to unfinished routes or holidays.
Customers should have all materials out for collection by 6am on their scheduled pickup day.
If garbage is not out in time for regular collection, it will be picked up the following week.

To ensure a clean and effective pickup, PLEASE:

  • LEAVE 2 FEET BETWEEN CONTAINERS
  • DO NOT PARK PERSONAL VEHICLES WITHIN 10 FEET OF CONTAINERS
  • DO NOT DRILL INTO, BOLT OR FASTEN ANY OBJECTS TO YOUR CART
  • DO NOT OVERFILL TRASH CART OR PLACE ADDITIONAL GARBAGE ON TOP OF THE CONTAINER
  • BAG AND TIE ALL TRASH
  • AVOID PACKING MATERIALS TIGHTLY INSIDE THE CART
  • 96 GALLON BLUE CART OUT AND UNBLOCKED BY 6:00 AM

RESIDENTIAL WASTE MATERIALS

Please bag ALL acceptable waste materials prior to placing into your Waste Connections garbage cart.
For safety, legal and environmental reasons, not all materials can be placed in Waste Connections Garbage Carts.

ACCEPTABLE RESIDENTIAL GARBAGE ITEMS:

  • Normal non-hazardous household waste
  • Cat litter or small animal waste (if double bagged)

UNACCEPTABLE RESIDENTIAL GARBAGE ITEMS:

  • Ammunition, fireworks, ashes (hot or cold), propane tanks

The City also provides curbside pickup of the following items as a courtesy to our residents through Waste Connections:

Limbs and Heavy Brush Collection

Limbs should be no longer than four(4) feet and no bigger than ten(10) inches in diameter.
Heavy brush will be picked up over several service days depending on the actual size, several scoops will be picked up each service day until completely removed.
We will pick up limbs cut by the property owners if they are cut to manageable dimensions and placed by the curb or street.
Tree Service Companies or property owners will be responsible to remove all trees cut by a hired Tree Service Company.

Leaf/Grass Clipping Collection

City Ordinance states leaves/grass clippings should be bagged; this keeps our storm drains clear of debris which helps to alleviate storm water from backing up onto properties.
Bagged leaves/grass clippings should be placed next to curb or street separated from other debris.

Appliance Collection

Appliances will be removed if placed by the curb with some stipulations for some items.
Refrigerators, Freezers and any other items containing FREON must have the Freon removed by a licensed technician and must have a label applied indicating as such.
Also the doors must be removed as well.
LANDFILL WILL NOT ACCEPT APPLIANCES WITHOUT THIS SAID LABEL.

Miscellaneous Collection Items

Miscellaneous items such as household furniture or carpet will be picked up if placed by the curb.
Any small items will need to be bagged to prevent the scatter of debris.

ALL CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO PROPERLY DISPOSE OF.

TV’s AND TIRES WILL NOT BE DISPOSED OF BY THE TRASH SERVICE. THESES ITEMS WILL NEED TO BE SEPERATED FROM THE OTHER ITEMS AT THE CURB. YOU MUST CALL THE UTILITY DEPARTMENT AND SCHEDULE THESE ITEMS TO BE PICKED UP.

  • FOR TIRES THERE IS A DISPOSAL FEE OF $3 PER TIRE.
