The Human Resources Department provides direct service and policy direction to all city departments and 200 employees in accordance with the policies and programs of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen and is responsible for administering the city's benefits programs, including but not limited to:

Family and Medical Leave Act

As an employee of the City of Horn Lake, you will be eligible 30 days following the month of hire for the following:
Medical (Employee is paid at 100%, Dependent coverage is subsidized to offset costs to the employee).

What is a qualifying event: A) A qualifying event is a change in a person’s life that created the need to add, cancel, increase or change coverage.
Examples of qualifying events: A) Marriage/divorce, B) Birth or adoption, C) Coverage loss of a spouse and D) Loss of other coverage
How long do I have to submit a change to coverage? A) Changes must be submitted to Human Resources within 30 days of the qualifying event. Otherwise, you will have to wait until the next open enrollment period to change coverage.
How long can my child(ren) stay on my insurance? A) Child(ren) may remain until he/she turns 26 years of age.
